So, how did I get here?
Well, it all started in 9th grade when I got my first guitar and started jamming with my friends. Naturally, I enjoyed the playing, but what I really liked was the production. Wiring the sound and lights was as much fun as being in the band, and sometimes more so. In 1988 I headed off to Mary Washington College where I studied the technical side of theater. Design and installation of scenery, lighting, and audio, along with stage management and show direction.
After school, I headed back to my native Long Island, where I stepped into the Mega-Mitzvah production circle. Freelancing for several lighting and sound companies, I also worked with Fireworks by Grucci. One thing was missing, I had left my college sweetheart behind, so I retuned to the Washington area and jumped into the production world head first.
I got married (and still am with two great kids), spent two years with a lighting production house, moved on for another two years with a bigger audio and lighting house, where I worked on the Smithsonian 150th, the Million Man March, and the AIDS candlelight vigil. From there I stepped into the corporate world spending the next ten years working for full service AV company, first as a production manager and leaving as a Senior Account Executive.
I enjoyed my work, but there was always something missing. TRUE CLIENT SERVICE. Even though I was hired by my clients, it was always my job to "sell what's on the shelf". My bosses warehouse became my real client, and that just seemed wrong, so I left and went independent. Now I work for my clients, with the satisfaction, that they truly are who I serve, and I am not looking back.
So, what are you waiting for?....
